BAREFOOT IN THE BACKWOODS I like to ride motorcycles Even though I don’t have one anymore I like to feel the wheels a-spinning It takes me back to when I played Barbies on the floor of my Daddy’s shiny 18-wheeler Me and him and the open road I’d line the dollies on the dashboard We’d all be looking forward to the places we’d go But as soon as that big rig turned down the drive I’d be CHORUS Barefoot in the backwoods with my four-legged best friend Chasing butterflies and dreaming, running with the wind What I wouldn’t give to have that innocence again Of that little carefree girl in a big world I fell in love on an airplane Clear skies with the clouds below Twenty-five got married wanting more We were young and looking forward to the places we’d go But he lost his way and left me brokenhearted longing to be CHORUS Barefoot in the backwoods with my four-legged best friend Chasing butterflies and dreaming, running with the wind What I wouldn’t give to have that innocence back again Of that little carefree girl in a big world Now when the days get long And life gets heavy There’s just one place you’re gonna find me CHORUS Barefoot in the backwoods with my four-legged best friend Chasing butterflies and dreaming, running with the wind What I wouldn’t give to have that innocence back again Of that little carefree girl in a big world In a big world I like to ride motorcycles Even though I don’t have one anymore

City Country 03:38
City Country Got my high heels on I'm ready to play Say goodbye to combines and hay To make a new life where concrete sways Where nobody knows me and the gravel is paved I hate to give up that small town feel But I’m setting my sights on the fields of steel No turning back I'm on my way Taking a chance I'm ready for change CHORUS Heading for the city out on my own Bright lights, new sights but I’m never alone Coz I know where I come from City country Late nights, new heights, set my groove Might trade my boots for some Jimmy Choos But I won't forget my roots City country City country Life in the city ain't like at home But I'm working just as hard to make it on my own Sun up, sun down it’s all the same Except the stars are in the streets wearing fancy names Sold my horse for a red mustang I still like beer but I sip champagne No turning back, I'm on my way Taking a chance I'm ready for change CHORUS Heading for the city out on my own Bright lights, new sights but I’m never alone Coz I know where I come from City country Late nights, new heights, set my groove Might trade my boots for some Jimmy Choos But I won't forget my roots CHORUS Heading for the city out on my own Bright lights, new sights but I’m never alone Coz I know where I come from City country Late nights, new heights, set my groove Might trade my boots for some Jimmy Choos But I won't forget my roots City Country City Country City Country

One More Time I wonder how you’re doing? I haven't heard from you all week, have you been working late? Someone thought they saw your car outside Sarah's place I need you to explain what's going on Have I become second place? CHORUS You say that you miss me You don't know how you'd live without me But that's a lie I know you'd be fine Hold my hand, let you kiss me I wanna believe that you love me And we'll be alright So I let you lie, one more time Honey just be honest ‘Cause I want to believe, but it's been so long Since you’ve been straight with me I need to hear you say that you care for me at all Do I have your heart? Do you want me to stay? CHORUS You say that you miss me You don't know how you'd live without me But that's a lie I know you'd be fine Hold my hand, let you kiss me I wanna believe that you love me And we'll be alright So I let you lie Look me in the eye and say it's over Don't just keep me waiting for you Move along Don't drag my heart behind you CHORUS You say that you miss me You don't know how you'd live without me But that's a lie I know you'd be fine Hold my hand, let you kiss me I wanna believe that you love me And we'll be alright So I let you lie, one more time One more time

It Ain't You 03:36
IT AIN’T YOU Did you miss that No Trespassing sign I nailed to my heart last week Don’t you know, you silly stupid boy, that means No Vacancy I’m done with all the drama and all of these dating games I’m claiming my stake to a needed a break before I go insane Yeah, I hope that’s not too hard for you to understand But then again… you’re a man! CHORUS You might look like the perfect 10 Born to shop, love to watch the chick flicks And every now and then you like to take long walks so we can talk Yeah, there’s nothing you won’t do I’m needing something But it ain’t you You’re carrying a book of lines you love to toss around You didn’t think I knew so you threw a few And they landed on the ground You take me for some amateur but I know how all this works Your charming face, it’s in my space And I don’t need another jerk What part of “no”, my dear, did you not understand But then again, that’s right… you’re a man! CHORUS You might look like the perfect 10 Born to shop, love to watch the chick flicks And every now and then you like to take long walks so we can talk Yeah, there’s nothing that I like that you won’t do I’m needing something But it ain’t… You might be my Mr. Right But tonight…you’re giving me a headache No, it’s not you. I thought it was, but no. Maybe? No. CHORUS You might look like the perfect 10 Born to shop, love to watch the chick flicks And every now and then you like to take long walks so we can talk Yeah, there’s nothing that I like that you won’t do I’m needing something I’m needing something But it ain’t you It’s not you, it’s me. Um, I’m busy Friday and Saturday. I’m always busy. Have you met my sister?

Play That Song Baby listen, can you hear my heart singing? Oh, a song for you like you sing for me When you say you love me I can almost feel the rhythm of our souls When you kiss me let the music go CHORUS Baby play that song The one you sing when my whole world turns and spins Under your spell and makes me fall in love with you Baby play that song You’re the sweetest thing that’s ever touched my life And oh it’s ecstasy when you sing to me How you, you want me I can almost feel the rhythm of our souls When you kiss me let the music go CHORUS Baby play that song The one you sing when my whole world turns and spins Under your spell and makes me fall in love with you The one that makes my heartbeat run And everything that was undone turns out right When I’m with you Baby play that song Year after year I’m stronger with you near Let me hear it one more time CHORUS Baby play that song The one you sing when my whole world turns and spins Under your spell and makes me fall in love with you The one that makes my heartbeat run And everything that was undone turns out right When I’m with you Baby play that song

I’m Letting Go I’m done, I’m giving up I’ve had enough of all that crazy stuff That’s getting in the way and always bringing me down You so knew you were playing me Thought I didn’t see all of your deceiving ways, and your dirty games It takes more for me to come undone That’s enough for me CHORUS I’m letting go I’m letting go This time I know I’m letting go So done This wasn’t love like I thought it was But I wanted to believe it wasn’t just another lie CHORUS I’m letting go I’m letting go This time I know I’m letting go I’m a strong girl, I can stand on my own CHORUS I’m letting go I’m letting go This time I know I’m letting go I’m done You’ve been playing me This wasn’t love I’m done I’m done, I’m giving up had enough of that crazy stuff getting in the way and bringing me down You knew you were playing me You thought that I didn’t see Now its time for me to go

about

On the "Letting Go" project Melody Lovejoy had the pleasure of working with Clay Krasner & RyLee Madison (7-17 Music) and Shayne Hill (NP Studios) in Nashville, Tennessee. As a result, the recordings showcase an impressive line up of musicians who have worked with the likes of Faith Hill, Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, Terri Clark, Martina McBride, Michelle Wright, Sawyer Brown, Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire and The Band Perry.

Influenced by her love of rock driven music and her country roots, Melody’s voice combines the smoky overtones of a rock diva with the clear emotion of a country songstress to bring a punchy, yet emotionally connected performance. Compared to voices such as Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson, Jan Arden and Kimberly Perry from the Band Perry, her debut release, ‘Letting Go’ demonstrates that Melody is just as comfortable belting out power anthems as she is skilled at evoking tears in tender, heart-wrenching ballads.
